Tanjung tinggI   beach

Located around the Sijuk area, pantai Tanjung Tinggi is one of the most iconic tourist hotspots in Belitung. It is quite a large beach, popular with both locals and foreigners to hang out in. And understandably so.

 

One of the most gorgeous aspects of the beach is the giant rocks, or rather granite rock boulders, around the area. That’s what it’s known for. It’s a hotspot made for those looking for a scenic place to have fun in. Most would go on ride boats, play in the sand with their families, and take pictures all around the beautiful beach scene. These boulder are of course quite tall, in fact most visitors would go climbing them to explore, take pictures, or to simply find a quiet and isolated place to listen to the ocean’s waves. They’re pretty interesting for someone looking for one of Belitung’s many natural icons. The boulders, coupled with the nice and shady trees surrounding it, serves to be one of the more ideal places to sit down and relax in, or simply admire these oversized rocks in its tall glory. Because of this, the boulders are what’s considered the beach’s icon, though there are plenty of these oversized rocks to explore all around the island, the overall view and atmosphere of the beach is enhanced by the presence of these rocks. Watching the clear waves gently crash against the boulders while listening to the water’s movements is surely an atmosphere worth immersing yourself in. Some would even bring boats around the area, and despite doing so, the beach maintains its cleans surroundings.

 

Here is also one of the shooting locations used for the Belitungnese movie, Laskar Pelangi, which is signified by one of the massive boulders that stand behind a sign stating that the beach is one of the shooting locations. This was one of the ways in which the area first got more recognition, and soon turned into a classic favourite amongst tourists.

 

Tanjung Tinggi beach is an ideal place to bring your family along with to enjoy the best parts of a Belitungnese beach. One of the more unique aspects of the beaches there are in fact the rocks and boulders, creating gorgeous views and loads of fun activities that visitors can indulge in.
